Dr. Nina Elk

Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice


Biography

Dr. Nina Elk joined Fairleigh Dickinson University's School of Pharmacy in September 2013. As the Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Elk will precept students in Internal Medicine Experiential rotation and assist in teaching curriculum at the school. Dr. Elk’s practice site is at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center where she will be providing clinical pharmacy services in cardiology.

Dr. Elk received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2007 from Long Island University School of Pharmacy and  completed her post-graduate ASHP-accredited residency training in general pharmacy practice followed by internal medicine specialized residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center.

After her professional training, Dr. Elk worked at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Suffern, NY for several years as a critical care clinical pharmacist. Dr. Elk provided pharmacotherapy recommendations for critical care areas, facilitated education for hospital staff, developed policies and procedures for the department of pharmacy and was an active member on multidisciplinary committees.

Dr. Elk enjoys taking an active role in educating pharmacy students hoping they will all succeed in their future pharmacy careers.
