Dr. Anna Dushenkov

Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice


Biography

Dr. Anna Dushenkov joined the School of Pharmacy in June 2014. As an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Dushenkov develops and teaches several pharmacotherapy courses.

Dr. Dushenkov received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Rutgers University, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Piscataway, New Jersey. She completed her post graduate, ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Connecticut. After completion of her training, for almost fifteen years Dr. Dushenkov has worked for NS LIJ Health System as a Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator, and Assistant Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services. She was nominated for “Women in Healthcare Award” and for “Innovation and Teamwork in electronic medication reconciliation” for NS LIJ Health System. She was a Team Leader for the NS LIJ Health System President’s Award winning project, which employed an interactive evidence-based electronic clinical decision support system. Dr. Dushenkov is Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. She has several publications on issues in medication safety.

Dr. Dushenkov is looking forward to incorporate her extensive clinical experience into education and training of future pharmacists, and prepare them to become knowledgeable professionals.
