Master of Science Homeland Security - Admissions
Students can enter the MSHS program the start of any trimester: Fall (September), Spring (January), Summer I (April) or Summer II (July).
State Authorizations indicate which U.S. States authorize FDU on-line programs for their residents.
A 3.0 or above undergraduate GPA must have been maintained to be considered for admission. All undergraduate and graduate / post-graduate averages must be listed including current near graduation average regardless as to whether or not a degree was received.
Previous University Study
A minimum of four years of previous university study is required of all applicants for graduate study.
50% tuition scholarship for all applicants.
GMAT and GRE scores are NOT required.

All applicants must submit official transcripts.
For transcripts not in English, a notarized or certified English translation must accompany the original transcript.
A transcript is official only when it is sent directly from an institution to Fairleigh Dickinson University’s School of Administrative Science, or when it is submitted with the application in a sealed envelope stamped by the institution.
Applicants must submit official transcripts for a minimum of four years of previous university study. Transfer and graduate applicants must submit transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended whether or not a degree was granted.
FDU Students: How to Apply for Official Transcripts
FDU students can view their transcripts online via Webadvisor and should visit Enrollment Service’s “Transcripts” page for more information and to request official transcripts.
Applicants must submit a written 1000 word essay outlining their current job responsibilities, duties, and management philosophy.
English Proficiency Test
All applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit the results of a test of English proficiency to the Office of International Admissions.
Students from Australia, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and United Kingdom do not need to submit test scores.
The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is the most frequently submitted test. However, applicants may submit the results of other recognized tests including the IELTS. An IELTS score of 6.0. A TOEFL-C score of 213 or higher or a score of 79 on the new TOEFL is recommended for application to Fairleigh Dickinson University The test code for the TOEFL is 2263 (Metropolitan Campus).
Applicants who have previously attended an American high school, college or university for more than two years and have earned passing grades in English courses may request that the TOEFL/IELTS entrance requirement be waived.
A current resume must accompany the application materials.
Letters of Recommendation
Three letters of recommendation are required and may be submitted separately. They must include the name and affiliation (i.e., university or place of business) of the person submitting the letter Two of the letters must be from persons who can address the applicant's academic qualifications (former instructors). One letter must be from an employer.
For MSHS applicants, the employer must be able to verify the applicant's form of homeland security employment.

2) Request official transcripts from all previously attended undergraduate and graduate institutions and have them sent directly to the mailing address listed above.
These documents may also be submitted to the School of Administrative Science office by hand if they are in an envelope sealed with the stamp of the institution.
