About the Middle College Program

In its 32nd year of existence, the Middle College Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University currently puts the University at the service of 100+ secondary schools, all within relatively easy access to its New Jersey campuses. Students enrolled in subjects such as Physics, Calculus, Spanish, Art, Chemistry, Biology and the Humanities interact with some of the faculty of the largest independent university in New Jersey.

Originally designed to help local senior high school students ward off the “senior slump,” the Middle College Program now services more than 2,800 honor students.

The University approves the course material and, with the cooperation of the high school faculty, supplements the curriculum with professional lectures, laboratory demonstrations, theater experiences, art exhibits, concerts, and museum trips. In addition, the high school students use the varied resources of FDU, including the campus libraries and computer facilities. Participating students may attain advanced standing and college credit through the Middle College Program.
