Metropolitan Hotel Society

The Hotel Society is a student activity designed to support professionalism and the hospitality management curriculum. Through co-curricular activities and experiences, (guest lectures, field trips, community service off and on campus, and bonding), students have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills.

Florham Hotel Society

Mission: To build and strengthen relationships, professionalism, and appreciation for the hospitality industry among its students, alumni, and supporters of the International School of Hospitality and Tourism at Fairleigh Dickinson University. The driving force of this society will stem from the needs of its members so as to aid in the development of the students through networking, scholarship opportunities, and career-enhancing experiences.

Club Manager's Association of America

Established in 1927, the Club Manager's Association of America (CMAA) is the professional association for managers or member clubs. With close to 7000 members across all classifications, our manager members run more than 3000 country, city, athletic, faculty, yacht, town, and military clubs (CMAA website).

The New Jersey Chapter of the CMAA has been instrumental in the growth of our new student chapter which provide opportunities for:

  • Educational and Professional Development
  • Networking and contacts with nearby club managers
  • Annual student chapter wine event and education program
  • Networking and exchanging information on issues of concern
  • New Jersey Club Foundation gives scholarships each fall for up to four participating students

The Fairleigh Dickinson University Student chapter includes members from the two main campuses in Northern New Jersey, as well as our off-campus site at Hudson County Community College Culinary Arts building. This is the only student chapter based in the state.

Eta Sigma Delta Honor Society

Eta Sigma Delta, the International Hospitality Society, which was originated in 1978 at the University of New Hampshire, currently has more that 90 active chapters worldwide. The International School of Hospitality and Tourism Management Chapter was founded in 1981. Students are required to have a grade point ratio of at least 3.00, and take an active leadership role in the school and perform hospitality related community service.
