The International School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the Metropolitan Campus is located on 125 acres bridging Teaneck and Hackensack, two dynamic, cosmopolitan towns in northern New Jersey. Just a 25-minute drive from mid-town Manhattan, the campus offers students easy access to the rich hospitality resources of New York City -- as well as countless New Jersey hotels, restaurants, and country clubs. Its central location enables students to choose from dozens of internships and part-time job opportunities. It is FDU's largest and most culturally diverse campus, attracting students from more than 60 countries around the world.
The School occupies a spacious suite consisting of offices and classrooms on the second floor of Dickinson Hall. A 2,000-square-foot demonstration lab includes food production materials, a dining area, television cameras and teleconferencing capabilities. To further enhance practical training, numerous hospitality properties in New York City and New Jersey serve as hands-on laboratory facilities for fostering technical and managerial skills. Students run the Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management Society, which plays a key role in their social and professional growth.
On this campus, many courses in hotel, restaurant and tourism management are offered evenings and weekends to accommodate the busy schedule of the working professional. For commuter students, there is ample parking and regular bus service at the door of Dickinson Hall. On-campus housing is available for resident students.
International students find the campus' proximity to New York City especially appealing. Special arrangements are also available for interested international students to work in various experiential learning situations to fulfill internship requirements.
Adjacent to this campus is the highly regarded Bergen Academies, one of the regions most selective and competitive secondary schools. FDU's Hospitality School has developed a unique partnership with the Bergen Academy's Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Program which allows its student to complete FDU's B.S. program in 3 years.
