Adjunct Professor, International School of Hospitality & Tourism Management
Donna Vassallo is an adjunct faculty member in Fairleigh Dickinson University’s International School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, at its Atlantic City location, where she teaches Human Motivation and Behavior. In addition, she is a full time instructor in the Hospitality Education Department of Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing, New Jersey. She holds a B.S. from Widener University and an M.S. in Hospitality Management Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also undertook extensive graduate studies at Rowan University.
For over 9 years, she was employed at the Claridge Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She joined the company in 1989, as a Training Instructor, and during her tenure assumed various positions as Professional Development Supervisor, Employment Manager and Director of Employment and Recruitment.
A former successful restaurant owner and operator, Professor Vassallo is also a popular restaurant consultant. She trains independent food operators on service standards, and frequently appears on local radio and television food shows.
Professor Vassallo is a member of The International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education; the Chaine des Rotisseurs, the international culinary association; Cape May County Chamber of Commerce; Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce and Southern Shore Human Resource Management Association of New Jersey.
Professor Vassallo lends her time and expertise to numerous executive boards and councils, including: the Atlantic Cape May Workforce Investment Board, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Atlantic and Cape May Counties and Widener University’s School of Hospitality Management Alumni Association.
