Kirsten Tripodi has been a member of the International School of Hospitality and Tourism Management full time faculty since 2003 and has taught the following courses:

Dr. Tripodi supervises the undergraduate internships at the Metropolitan campus. She has expertise in the areas of service and training, possesses over 25 years of industry experience, and has worked for numerous hospitality/tourism corporations in various management positions. These include:

  • General Manager: Back Bay Restaurant Group
  • Beverage Manager and Room Service Manager:The Ritz Carlton, Buckhead and New York
  • Manager: Restaurant Associates at Rockefeller Center
  • Banquet Manager and Catering Manager: The Nassau Inn, Princeton
  • Director of Outlets: Doubletree Hotel in Somerset, NJ
  • Manager:  Lackmann Food Services at Prudential- Bache

In preparing for her career, Kirsten Tripodi secured the following educational qualifications and certifications:

  • Ph.D. in Higher Education, Seton Hall University
  • M.P.S. in Hotel Management from Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration
  • B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from Rutgers College, Rutgers University

She became a Certified Hospitality Educator from the AH&LA Educational Insitute in January, 2003, in addtion to:

  • ServSafe Instructor/Proctor (food safety, sanitation & alcohol)
  • Advisor for Metro Campus Hotel Society
  • Advisor for the FDU student chapter of the Club Managers Association of America
  • Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) awarded by the American Hotel & Lodging Association
  • Sommelier Certification awarded by Court of Master Sommeliers

Dr. Tripodi is the recipient of these awards/ recognition:

  • Advisor of the Year - Fairleigh Dickinson University, Metro Campus 2008-09
  • Manager of the Quarter, The Ritz-Carlton, NY
  • Quality Vision Department of the Month, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company
  • Quality Assurance Director, Restaurant Associates at Rockefeller Center

She has written a chapter for an Introductory textbook in hospitality management:  Hospitality and Tourism:  An Introduction to the Industry, Twelfth, Thirteenth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Editions by Robert A. Brymer. Kendall/Hunt Publishing Company.

Dr. Tripodi recently served as the President of NENA (North American Chapter of CHRIE - Council of Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Educators)

Dr. Tripodi serves on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Club Foundation.

Dr. Tripodi's dissertation is titled: Academic Success Factors for Student who Delay College Entry. Her research interests are service styles and strategies, food and beverage operations, wine and beverage and student sustainability.
