Michelle Mitterer has over 30 years of Hospitality experience that includes food and beverage management, catering, conference services, meeting planning, and marketing.
Professor Mitterer launched her career with Hyatt Corporation. She has been employed by Ritz Carlton Hotels, and had ten years with Sheraton Hotels in Washington D.C. and in New York City. In 1997 she was appointed Director of the Executive Conference Center (newly created twenty-five thousand square foot facility) at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in midtown Manhattan. Additionally, Mitterer spent several years as co-publisher of Art Culinaire Magazine, a savvy hard-covered quarterly publication targeting food service professionals and avid cooks. Until May 2014, Professor Mitterer worked as the Director of Food and Beverage at Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center, owned by Destination Hotels & Resorts. Currently Professor Mitterer is the Director of Catering and Events at the Short Hills Hilton.
Professor Mitterer is a magna cum laude graduate of the Business School at Seton Hall University. She completed her Masters of Science in Hospitality Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Professor Mitterer holds CHE (Certified Hospitality Educator) certification and CHSP (Certified Hospitality Sales Professional) certification both from the Educational Institute/American Hotel & Motel Association.
