Phillip J. Cafasso

Adjunct Professor, International School of Hospitality & Tourism Management

Philip Cafasso is a 2007 graduate of FDU’s graduate program in Hospitality Management. For the past nineteen years he has taught at Hudson County Community College’s Culinary Arts Institute. As a Professor at HCCC he has taught both food preparation lab and didactic courses in Management, Menu Planning Purchasing and Sanitation Management. Most recently, he has designed and taught an innovative “Interdisciplinary Learning” class for student with learning disabilities and, what he feels is his crowning achievement, a food history class entitled Food and Culture which is taught under the auspices of the college’s Humanities Department. As well as his academic achievements, Professor Cafasso is active in the hospitality industry as a consulting chef to the banquet industry in the state. He has competed in international, national and state cooking competitions as both coach and participant garnering a variety of awards. As well as his masters degree in Hospitality Management Professor Cafasso has degrees in Culinary Arts and English.
