Cheng Gong Academic Policies

Cheng Gong English Progress

Students must make recommended progress toward acquisition of English to complete the Cheng Gong program in four semesters. Students who do not make recommended progress toward the acquisition of English may repeat levels of ESL during intersessions or summer sessions at an additional cost. EPS and English Writing courses may be repeated during summer sessions at an additional cost.

Minimum Progress per semester with courses recommended for that progress:

First Semester - Preparation for EPS placement test

  • ESL0101 Speaking and Structure Practice
  • ESL0102 Reading and Writing
  • ESL0103 Guided Research I

Second Semester - Readiness for the EPS placement test

  • ESL0104 Speaking and Structure Practice II
  • ESL0106 Guided Research II

Third Semester - Complete EPS Program with a grade of B or better  

  • ESL0123 US History ESL - Writing/Grammer
  • ESL0124 US History ESL - Listening
  • ESL0125 US History ESL - Speaking

Fourth Semester - Complete English Writing I

  • ESL0132 Toefl ESL - Writing/Grammer
  • ESL0133 Toefl ESL - Listening
  • ESL0134 Toefl ESL - Speaking
