I am in-house franchise counsel for Realogy Group LLC, a leading franchisor of six global real estate brands. I provide legal guidance to the Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate system as well as provide on-going support to the other real estate brands. I am solely responsible for the drafting, maintenance and management of the domestic and Canadian Franchise Disclosure Documents across all brands. I further provide support to international counsel for the analysis of international franchise disclosure regulations and assist in the preparation of territory and country based disclosure documents. In addition to handling transactional work and review of marketing materials; I also prepare training guides and provide training for internal franchise administration staff and sales teams on the subject of franchise disclosure and registration compliance.
Prior to embarking on my law school journey, I completed the ten month evening FDU Paralegal Studies Program with Honors, while working in the 401(k) compliance industry. After completion of the program, I began working as a paralegal for Cendant Car Rental Group LLC (n/k/a Avis Budget Group, Inc.). While in this full time role, I attended the Pace Law School evening program for four years. During this time, I gained transactional, litigation and franchise knowledge. I garnered nearly eight years of experience in the area of franchise disclosure, preparation of franchise agreements and FDDs and the regulatory aspects of the franchising.
Upon graduating law school, I obtained court room, mediation and arbitration experience while working at Harwood Lloyd LLC in Hackensack. I became actively involved in the regulatory field of personal injury protection (PIP) matters, while handling insurance defense litigation matters and assisting clients with franchise needs. After gaining civil litigation experience, I continued on my desired path of franchising by obtaining my current role as in-house franchise counsel.
I am a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, the American Bar Association and its Forum on Franchising and the International Franchise Association.
