Enrollment and Application
To be considered for admission, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and have a minimum of two years experience in a financial planning related position. The program is appropriate for those individuals changing careers if they are prepared to commit to the study. The academic director will review such applications, and candidates may be personally interviewed as well. In addition to the tuition, students must purchase textbooks and a required study guide for each course in the program.
Certification indicates to the public your ability to provide financial planning unsupervised. To support this, CFP Board requires you to have the equivalent of three years full time professional experience related to the financial planning process, or two years of apprenticeship experience that meets additional requirements.
