The Insurance Institute

The Insurance Institute at Fairleigh Dickinson University is a New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance approved provider of Insurance Continuing Education Credits. Department of Insurance sponsor #08240, Board of Accountancy sponsor #1116.

Continuing Education Requirements – The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance requires Producers to obtain 24 Continuing Education Credits every 2 years to maintain their Producer’s License. Of the 24 CEC’s, 3 of these credits must be in an approved Ethics course.

Additional Requirements:  Producers that are authorized to sell Flood Insurance must complete a one time requirement of 3 credits in Flood Insurance. Life and Health Producers who sell Long Term Care Insurance are required to complete the 8-hour Long Term Care Partnership course. After the initial training course, Producers will be required to complete the 4-hour Long Term Care Partnership recertification course every two years as part of their license renewal.

Pre-Licensing Requirements – Mandatory education is 20 hours for each line of authority. All of our Licensing Courses are structured to provide the necessary training needed to prepare each student for the New Jersey Insurance Producer Licensing Exam.

Locations – The Insurance Institute meets in two convenient locations:

Florham Campus, Madison, New Jersey

Metropolitan Campus, Teaneck, New Jersey

Onsite & Corporate Instruction – Both CE & Licensing courses can also be arranged at your place of business to provide quality, cost-effective education for your staff and/or clients. Custom course schedules allow for flexibility and convenience.

Enrollment – Although you can conveniently register at anytime, enrolling at least two weeks before course start date is highly recommended. Same-day registration is also available, but please be sure to call ahead to confirm the availability of that class.

Our Courses – All of the institute's Instructors are experts in their field and all of the institute's courses are approved by The New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance. The Insurance Institute provides a classroom setting that promotes class participation and a chance to network with others in the field. Each course provides 3 Insurance CECs and 3 CPEs with the exception of the 8-hour LTCP course.
