Certificate Programs

The Center for Excellence has developed three certificate programs for the emerging nonprofit professional. Program components include:

  • 14 class sessions
  • a three month mentoring program
  • career coaching, and
  • networking opportunities

Below you will find short descriptions for each of the three; links to the left provide more detailed information.

Executive Nonprofit Leadership Certificate

This program is designed for the emerging or ascending leader within a nonprofit organization, or the person one step away from the CEO seat. It will also benefit sitting nonprofit executives seeking to elevate personal leadership skills and increase their organization’s performance and results.

Executive Philanthropy & Resource Development Certificate

This program is designed for current development and foundation professionals as well as emerging leaders who aspire to be the chief development or foundation officer for a nonprofit organization. This is also designed for current executives and board members who want a more comprehensive understanding of fundraising.

Certificate in Nonprofit Essentials

This introductory program will address questions from those seeking to better understand or enter the nonprofit community. It will encompass a change in thinking about nonprofits, the meaning of “nonprofit,” how these organizations are managed, how operations and finances are different, how to get started, and why the nonprofit sector is both a viable and a satisfying career option.
