Music Faculty - Heidi Lowy
Heidi Lowy’s studies include an Honorary Scholarship to the Juilliard School, Preparatory Division, where she studied piano with Leland Thompson and theory with Frances Goldstein; a B. Mus. from the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, where she studied with John Perry; and a M. Mus. and a Distinguished Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. She also studied with Cécile Genhart, Nadia Boulanger, and Robert Casadesus at the École d’arts Américaines, Fontainebleau, and privately with Leon Fleisher. She is a Wulsin Fellowship Recipient from the Tanglewood Music Festival. She has taught master classes at the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Academy, and given a lecture-recital at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College. Her discography includes Mozart: The Complete Piano Sonatas and Ravel: The Complete Piano Solo Works, released by MSR Classics. She is the host for the WFDU HD 3 radio program, “Classical Beats,” and is also a voting member for the Grammy Awards.
