Theater Faculty - Carol Bentley
Carol Bentley has worked on Broadway, in films, in commercials, videos, and print. Credits include Monty Python’s Spamalot (Assistant Dance Captain), Wonderful Town, Follies (Astaire Award nom. For Best Female Dancer), Swing! (principal, original cast), On The Town (Dance Captain), Jesus Christ Superstar (Dance Captain), Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story (Velma), A Christmas Carol (Ghost of Future u/s), and the Radio City Music Hall Spectaculars. Regional roles have in included Louise in Carousel (North Carolina Theater) and the Hair Hag in Les Miserables (Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera). Film credits include Disney’s Enchanted and a featured cameo in the Vanessa Williams film Dance With Me. Carol’s television credits include Guiding Light, the Today Show, Star Search, and appearances as a New York Knicks City Dancer; commercials have included Intel, Listerine, and Toyota. Carol works around the country as a choreographer for Camp Broadway, is an adjunct professor at both Fairleigh Dickenson and Rider University, and teaches specialty classes at AMDA in New York City. She has assisted choreographers from Lynn Taylor-Corbett with Alvin Ailey to Paper Mill Playhouse, Music Theatre of Witchita, Pittsburgh CLO, and the pre-Broadway workshop of THE BIG TIME directed by John Carrafa. Carol has worked along side Casey Nicholaw, Mike Nichols, Eliot Feld, George C. Wolfe, Kathleen Marshall, Jerry Zaks, Susan Stroman, Marcia Milgrom Dodge, Joshua Bergasse, Andy Blankenbuehler, and Alan Johnson. Carol is pleased to continue her work at Fairleigh Dickenson University as a way to further the education of dancers.
