American Studies Minor

The American studies minor is interdisciplinary, offering students the opportunity to focus on American cultural and historical perspectives. It consists of 18 credits: 9 credits of required courses and 9 credits of select elective courses.

 

Required Courses (9 Credits)

  • HIST2350 Colonial and Revolutionary America or
  • HIST2352 Civil War and Reconstruction or
  • HIST2358 20th-century United States
  • HIST3307 Jefferson's/Jackson's America or
  • POLS1201 American Government and Politics

 

Elective Courses (9 credits)

With each course from three different disciplines outside the student’s major:
