Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics

The mission of the Computer Science Program at FDU’s Florham Campus is to engage in education, research and service activities required for creating and disseminating the knowledge of Computer Science which has become essential in our global technological society. Through education, we attempt to instill in our students the necessary values and attitudes that prepare them for continued lifelong learning and leadership. This is accomplished by providing a curriculum of quality, balance and consistency within the framework of a liberal arts education, which will foster a connection between Computer Science and its application all over the world. The curriculum provides our students with a deep understanding of both fundamentals and important current issues in computer science preparing them for productive employment careers or the chance to pursue advanced degrees. Through research, coupled with student involvement, the department strives to generate new ideas, knowledge and technology.
