BCC-FDU Scholars Program
The BCC-FDU Scholars Program encourages Bergen Community College graduates to continue on for their bachelor’s degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Students are eligible for this program as soon as they have completed their associate’s degree at Bergen Community College*.
The BCC-FDU Scholar is given a minimum 40% reduction in tuition at Fairleigh Dickinson University. BCC-FDU Scholars who are also Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society members will receive the PTK Scholarship instead of the 40% reduction in tuition. PTK Scholarship recipients are awarded a larger amount than the 40% reduction in tuition.
Additional grants may be available for:
- Resident Students
- NJ Stars II Participants
- Students graduating with a 3.5+ GPA
Interested students should set up a meeting as soon as possible to discuss how their BCC curriculum requirements will also satisfy the FDU requirements. Meetings are encouraged each semester so the BCC advisor, FDU Scholars Program Director and you, the student, can monitor how to integrate each school’s courses for a seamless transition from associate to bachelor degree completion. Up to half the credits needed for the bachelor’s degree of your choice may be transferred.
Regular information sessions feature FDU professors discussing the requirements for specific majors as well as special programs associated with the academic department. Information Sessions will give you more insight into the FDU major of your choice and also allow you to begin creating relationships with your future faculty. Visits to either the Metropolitan or Florham Campus can easily be scheduled.
As you near your graduation from Bergen Community College, the BCC-FDU Scholars Program Director will create a Fairleigh Dickinson University schedule with you for your first semester. Our goal is to help you achieve your academic dreams. We are two schools with one goal: Your Success.
* BCC students who have received their Associates degree after October, 2013 are eligible.
